I am a painter and mixed-media artist who studied painting for five years at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, where I was exposed to the Surrealist painters whose work was a strong inspiration. Later, at Massachusetts College of Art where I graduated with a BFA, I learned about the Surrealist women painters. I also studied with and was influenced by local artists such as the late Conger Metcalf. Subsequent to earning the MSAE at Massachusetts College of Art, my thesis show was a Surrealist reinterpretation of an Old French romance. I have recently retired from teaching in public schools. It brings me great joy to continue to teach the subject I love to people who are interested in classical and Renaissance drawing and painting.
